An interesting list although I must say I’ve hardly heard of any of them — but is there any reason why rock music and electric guitar in particular is so male dominated (maybe not the case so much with classical eg. Liona Boyd)? One additional one to consider who blew my mind when I first saw her live was Anna Calvi who came to the stage looking like one of Robert Palmer’s miming band members but proceeded to shred her guitar like Jimi Hendrix. And on acoustic guitar Laura Marling is pretty good in a Joni Mitchell style.
